FS - 1951 Rolex Oyster Precision

This watch was originally purchased with the understanding it was from 1961 but after a bit more research and review of the serial I have dated it to 1951 due to the recycle of serial numbers in the 50’s. This watch is in unreal condition for its age. I have brought it to my local watch maker and he confirmed the watch is all original and the movement is running strong. This aligns perfectly with what was told to me when I bought the watch. Here is the back story form the previous seller.

“This watch was purchased from the widow of the original owner a few months back. The original owner was apparently quite the watch fanatic having a collection of several Rolex's from this era.

According to his wife, this watch wasn't worn as much as his others, but the watch is 100% all original and was last serviced in 2009 (just the movement). The watch includes the original crown, all edges are sharp, the lug holes are perfect and the watch is keeping incredible time (within 5 seconds last I checked).”

After doing a bunch of research and having it looked at I am looking to sell for $2,000. It is rare to find a watch like this in this good of condition. Also this dial is harder to come by which I think adds to the character of the watch. It is 30mm but still wears amazingly well on my wrist which is 7.25”. This would be the perfect piece for any vintage collectors display case. Pleas feel free to PM me if you have any questions or would like additional photos.

Similar models have sold between 1.75-2.5K on US forums and I even saw an identical one in really bad condition sell for $1100 a while ago. With that being said, apparently, smaller diameter watches are a smaller niche market here in Canada and I don't want to have to deal with international sales so I am lowering the price and opening up to other vintage trades from either Omega, Rolex or Tudor. Price is now $1500. Motivated to sell so lets make a deal!

Final reduction. $1250 firm. This exactly what I paid. Unbelievable deal for such a beautiful watch from the early 50’s. I will hold out on here until Monday and then off to Ebay if the interest is not there. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!

Lots of interest but nothing confirmed yet. Let’s try $1200 in hopes someone can appreciate how great of a deal this is for a watch this old and in this kind of condition. Also I appreciate all the trade offers but this is for sale only right now. Need to thin out my collection. Thanks for looking!
