Up for your consideration is a rare treat that you won't normally find on CWC. An all original 1971 Rolex Submariner 5513 (serial #2,678,XXX) with box, warranty papers, original sales receipt for $183.75 USD, pamphlets, wallet, Rolex service receipts, and even an anchor. It was even last serviced in June/2016 by Rolex, and keeps very good time. In fact, I have receipts from Rolex service centres in 1977, 1984, 2011, 2012 and 2016. I've never seen a vintage Rolex with this much paperwork.
The original owner of almost 45 years bought the watch in the Bahamas. He wore it regularly, as he was apparently a geologist and diver in Saskatchewan.
The only thing swapped out is what I presume to be the original or period correct T-19 superdome crystal, which will be included in the sale. It is still in very good condition, minus a big scratch that could be buffed out with a little effort. (I guess they didn't have Polywatch back then)
The original dial and original hands are extremely clean and have matching creamy patina.
The MK3 insert is faded to a blue/light grey colour. It's more beautiful to look at in person, and can change it's shade depending on the light that hits it.
There are no major dings, dents or anything of that sort. Just the normal scratches and wear that accumulate over time for a vintage watch from the early 70's.
The original rare "pateted" 9315 riveted bracelet (stamped 4/71) and 280 endlinks shows some wear, and might benefit from a little restoration if you choose so.
Offered to you at a price of $18,710 for a f2f transaction in the GTA.
I am interested in partial trades for stainless steel Rolex sports models, and/or vintage Tudor Submariners.
I also offer overnight shipping with FedEx, fully insured through Parcel Pro.
I have many references on this forum. You may contact the people on my Friends List. Thank you for your consideration.
