Going up for sale today is my JLC Master Ultra Thin Small Seconds, reference no. 171.8.90.S. The stainless steel case measures 38.5mm in diameter and houses JLC's 896 automatic movement, which was subjected to 1000 hours of rigorous testing, and is characterized by a 43 hour power reserve, 32 jewels, a 22-carat gold rotor mass and lubricant-free ceramic bearings, with beautiful finishing proudly displayed through the sapphire caseback. Wears super comfortably, earning its "ultra thin" moniker at somewhere around 7.5mm thick (spec seems to very slightly on different sites). Comes with the original alligator strap on curved spring bars and stainless steel deployment. Classically styled and superbly finished with a clean silver dial, dagger hour indices, and Dauphine hands polished on one side and frosted on the other to provide striking contrast in any lighting conditions. Includes box, user manual and hang tag, but no papers.
Condition: Case has some minor swirls, an a few small dings/fleabites on the bezel, which I did not find noticeable at all on the wrist, but can be seen in the photos around 4 o'clock, 6 o'clock an 10-11 o'clock. The original 19mm alligator strap is in good, but not excellent condition, showing some age/wear signs on the edges and at the stationary keeper, though the clasp holes and main outer surface are in great shape, so there should be lots of life left in it if you're not eager to swap it out. The original deployment clasp is in great condition with minimal rash. Running excellent, with recent timegrapher measurements of +1-3 s/d.
Price: asking $6800, shipped and insured.
Thanks for looking.
