This is quite a rare & early example of the coveted military dial 6139-7010 SpeedTimer and was sourced from Japan.
Serial number dates it to Feb 1970 which means it also has a "proof" dial and "proof" caseback! (Equivalent to double Swiss underline for Rolex)
The yellow chrono hands confirm that this is an early example as later versions had red or orange hands.
Case has some scratches and dings consistent for a 46yo watch. Dial and hands are original and are in great condition with very little patina.
All the dial printing is still very crisp, colours are bright, and check out that lovely Kanji day wheel! An NOS crystal was installed by the seller as well, so it is flawless.
Watch runs well, quick set day/date works as it should.
Full Disclosure: the chrono runs well (I leave it running since it has no running seconds), but resets at the 3 minute mark. An easy service fix from what I understand.
