From my collection, here is an uncommon vintage Rolex 6551. Manufactured as a men's watch in the 1950s, the 30/31 mm case would make it a great gift vintage timepiece for the lady in your life.

Dial: Original and untouched with light even patina.

Movement: 26 jewel automatic cal 1130 in good running order and keeping time. No service records, but multiple watchmaker markings on the caseback, evidence that this watch has been regularly serviced. The movement serial number is 52415. The cal 1130 was introduced by Rolex in 1955 (Brozek).

Case: Solid 14K gold, with no dings or dents. Has been polished in the past--unfortunately the reference number is barely visible and the serial number is illegible. So it goes....old watchmaker norms.

Case back is fully and correctly marked with reference and 14K gold stamps. Many service marks, as noted.

Rolex crown screws down properly and winds and sets with no issues.

Bracelet: Is a 10K gold-filled Rolex USA rivet C & I, marked I 71, so not original to the watch. A collectible bracelet in its own right, very comfortable and a great fit for the watch. In very good condition but of course shows some wear.

Selling this for $3350, as I am thinning the collection.

The watch and I are located in Ottawa, F2F is welcome. Otherwise, it's EFT only and shipping to be worked out with you. Sorry, no trades.

As you know, I am a collector, not a dealer, so I don't have zillions of references. Those I do have are flawless as both buyer and seller, and you can deal with confidence.

Here are some pictures. Thanks for looking!

Have to say--what looks like light stains on the dial and end piece is my crappy photo, and not the watch!

This watch with the bracelet will fit up to about 6 1/2 inch wrist. On leather, sky's the limit. Thanks, Nick

Drop this to $2800. Solid gold, hard to find Rolex. Don't let the smaller size hold you back. Best regards, Nick

Bumping this...again...two reasons. One, it is a super little watch, nice vintage dial, and looks really great on the wrist. Two, I'm hopeful that her birthday will come around, and you'll be looking for a watch that puts a permanent link between your collection and your spouse. There you have it. Thanks for looking...again!
