Offerring up for sale is my modified Seiko 5 Sports. I am asking $380 plus shipping (insured shipping through FlagShip available). Included in the sale are the watch, box, papers, OEM rubber strap (unworn), Uncle Seiko Z199 bracelet and original watch parts (hardlex crystal, original bezel and green bezel insert).
During the initial pandemic lock down in 2020, I decided to try my hands at Seiko modding because I was bored out of my mind. This is 1 of 2 Seiko 5s I got for modding, and I've decided to keep one and let one go to free up a slot in my watch box. The modifications I made to this watch include:
- Replaced the flat hardlex with a sapphire double domed crystal (The original hardlex crystal is included in this sale)
- Replaced the original bezel with green bezel insert with a rolex style bezel with a ceramic insert
Since I had to open up the watch case for the crystal swap, I cannot guarantee that the watch retains its original 100m water resistance. I have, however, tested the watch to 50m water resistant with my DIY pressure tester that I built (as I said, I was bored out of my mind
). But if you're planning on swimming with it, I'd recommend having it checked by a professional first. Here come the pictures. The wrist shot was taken on my 6.5inch wrist, very wearable for a 42.5mm watch.
