Background
The Tissot Seastar Navigator chronograph was part of the Tissot Seastar line. It houses the famously robust, manually wound Valjoux 7734 movement. Dating from the early 1970s, this black dialed chrono features twin subdials with a perpetual sweep seconds at the 9 o’clock position, a 30 minute subdial at 3 o’clock, and a date function at 6 o’clock. The 30 minute subdial features a 3 minute separator for 3, 6 & 9 minutes.
The Valjoux 7734 manual movement was first produced 1969 and was used until 1978. The 7734 was used by Breitling, Tudor, and Heuer during the 1960s and 70s. Tissot called it their Tissot cal. 2070.
Condition
The watch is in overall very good condition. The hands and dial are in excellent condition. The lume has turned into a nice creamy color. The bezel shows some fading on its edge. The case has some scratches and swirls, see pics. The crystal is perfect and scratch free. The chrono functions as it should. Service history unknown.
