Offered for sale is a Breitling Old Navitimer I, model reference 81610 (also referred to as the A13019), dating to approximately 1990 by serial number.
Presented on its original Breitling bracelet with "B"-signed clasp. These early original Breitling Navitimer bracelets are quite rare and add substantial value. Because of its age, the clasp requires slight forward pressure to snap closed, but it does close securely with its fold-over lock. Will fit a 7-inch wrist as is, but will be accompanied by two additional removed links. This Navitimer would also look incredible on a blue Breitling strap (not included), given the cream dial.
Powered by a 17-jewel Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement. While service history is unknown, it is keeping excellent time recently measured at +1 s/d in the dial up position on a Timegrapher. Winds and sets smoothly.
Panda dial shows age, with patinaed tritium indices ("T Swiss"). Crystal is scratch-free and clear. Original "B"-signed crown. Case back is highly polished with engravings legible on close examination, including the model reference 81610 and 4-digit serial number.
No box or papers. Photos are current, and were intentionally taken at angles and in lighting to accentuate the dial, case and bracelet condition. For an approximately 30-year old Navitimer, however, its overall condition is very nice indeed. The surface scratches can easily be polished out if desired, however a good part of the charm and value in these vintage Navitimers is their less-than-pristine and therefore authentic condition. The watch actually looks and wears great on the wrist, and does draw compliments.
A few notes regarding some of the early Navitimers such as this 81610: (1) The center chrono seconds hand did not have the "B" extension on the tail. (2) The movement rotors were unsigned, although clearly marked "7750 {Val}". (3) The Breitling bracelets were not code-marked other than having the "B"-signed clasp. These facts are readily verifiable if you do your research.
