For sale, a wonderful antique (possibly 1920's) Waltham 8-Day Brass Automobile Clock with 7-Jewel manual-wind movement, set in a custom hand-made, burled wood stand.
The clock is in need of repair: It was working fine until very recently when, during a wind, it suddenly started to make a ratcheting sound when turning the crown clock-wise, the result of which is that the clock no longer winds, although time-setting continues to work fine. May need a mainspring or ratchet wheel, however I'm guessing as I'm no clock expert; therefore it is being sold as is, for repair or enjoyment. Crystal has several surface scratches, visible only on certain angles.
Clock case diameter measures approx. 70mm. Case height (thickness) from surface of crystal to case back is approx. 22mm. Stand width is approx. 102mm. Stand height is approx. 92mm. the clock weighs 335 grams without the stand; 567 grams with the stand.
Even when not working, this clock will show the right time twice a day
, and the clock & stand combination make for a great mantle or desktop conversation piece.
