Your chance to own a grail - original owner, all original Rolex 1655 Explorer II “Steve McQueen” MK I Straight Second Hand
PRICE: NON-NEGOTIABLE: $37,500 CAD and there will be no price reduction (bank wire only) plus insured FedEx shipping
BRAND: Rolex
REFERENCE: 1655 Explorer II
MATERIAL: Stainless Steel
SERIAL: 3,0xx,xxx dating watch to 1971
MOVEMENT: self-winding
SIZE: 39mm
BRACELET: original Oyster folded links with period correct clasp 4/70. Bracelet has 11 folded link plus two endlinks, it is currently sized to 17.5 cm wrist, additional 2 folded steel links included which will allow you to go up to 19.5cm
Item Condition: GOOD CONDITION for its age! Some marks on case, bezel, bracelet and glass - even the crazed glass is original to the watch; crazing was fine with me and it adds to the purity of this timepiece! Prominent bevels on case and bezel which is almost unseen for watch that is 50 plus years old, watch has some “sleeve polish” over the years.
DIAL: Original black MK I dial as well as MK I bezel, both in stunning condition.
WHAT'S INCLUDED: Watch only
NOTES: I purchased this from original owner, who received it in 1971 as his wedding gift and he was too cheap to serviced it - which is the perfect scenario for watch enthusiasts nowadays! All I did to the watch was Polywatch the glass. Watch is running fine, I owned it for 3+ years and didn’t feel a need of service, crown feels a bit stiff when winding, but that didn’t bother me. Currently running approximately +10sec/day.
Service recommended as this is a private sale!
Many CWC references available.
NO TRADES PLEASE! SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY, NO PRICE REDUCTION MESSAGES!
