This is my brother's watch. He purchased it almost 40 years ago from a Jeweler in Montreal.

He had it verified by Kaufmann de Suisse in Montreal before plunking down his hard earned $3500!!

The good and the bad...

The watch was worn only a handful of times up to the late 80's before being placed in a bank safety deposit box to sleep. It was taken out of the box for the first time a few weeks ago when my brother asked me to sell it for him.

Sitting for 35 years caused some oxidation to the gold case, 90% of which was easily removed by me with some toothpaste and cotton balls.

I wound it fully yesterday at 4:00 pm. There is no second hand, so I have no idea how well its running, but it seems to be holding its own. It has previously been serviced, but it has been a long time since.

It still has its (quite rare to find) original PP solid gold buckle, though I cannot be certain about the strap. It does say faintly "genuine crocodile" and "Made in Italy", but I see no PP designation anywhere.

There is some dirt, or perhaps oxidation on the dial (it may be gold as well... not sure).

The crown is not original to the watch... it is a GP crown (Girard Perregaux) and looks to be gold as well, but of this I am not certain. Yes, this escaped the jeweler's, Kaufmann and my brother's detection from the get go... but my sleuthing eyes caught it.

There are light scratches pretty much everywhere, but no real blemishes. Polished up and serviced, with a nice new strap and it will be a stunner.

A Super Sponsor on CWC with much PP experience tells me that any good watchmaker can service it and clean up the dial for a reasonable price. No clue what finding the correct crown would cost, but I am baking that issue into the price.

Now to the movement. It is gorgeous, and Geneva Seal to boot! Nothing but great praise written about it on the internet. The movement number dates the watch to +/- 1970, nearer to the end of the cycle of this beautiful movement.

There are no boxes or papers, but somewhere in his files my brother has the certificate that the jeweller gave him, as well as some papers on the movement. They will be included if found... if not, then photos of them will be provided.

I cannot guarantee the watch in any way shape of form, other than to state that it is currently (remarkably) running quite well. Logic dictates that it would be dry and dirty and in need of attention, so I will not wind it further. This will be your responsibility as the new owner. It will be your responsibility as well to clean the remainder of the oxidation as my arthritic fingers don't work well at this type of thing anymore.

It is a beautiful legacy watch that will bring class to your wrists for generations to come. With a bit of expense and attention, as well as an archive extract, this one should appreciate nicely for you over time.

Photos were shot by hand on my phone. I wanted to show the watch in the same element that most eyes would see it under...

Fully insured fedex overnight shipping will be included in the final price. It will ship in a safe service case.

Please message me with any questions.

Asking $7985 on your wrist. Payment will be made to my brother, but I have the watch in my possession and will pack and ship.

Cheers!1000025072.jpg1000025073.jpg1000025074.jpg1000025075.jpg1000025076.jpg1000025077.jpg1000025078.jpg1000025079.jpg1000025080.jpg1000025081.jpg1000025082.jpg1000025083.jpg

Still running on minute!

I will shoot some of my normal photos and post them today.

I have an open offer from a dealer, but I would really like to see someone here in the community step up for this watch. They don't often come around.
