I’m just floating this out there as I love the watch, however it’s spot as a daily runs into the same issue I had with the 16800.
The pip, hands and dial are the quintessential example of vintage perfection for the model.
Not that I’m super rough on my watches, but a watch in this condition should be preserved given it’s the best example I’ve come across to date.
I have a period correct box, and Damiani appraisal/authentication ($25k, which is nice as Frank is always super critical of the rolexes I bring in. Seems he was finally impressed, lol).
I’m attaching a very significant premium for the balance, condition and tritium development due to it being worn extensively outside during its lifetime.
I bought the watch from a relative of the original owner. And everything is 100% original. If traded or sold, please....never bring her to Rolex!
Regarding the serial, the watch is a cusp production. As it’s 8.5M serial was used for both the matte and glossy dials.
Watches I’m interested in include a 1960-66 1675 GMT, 1969-71 Rolex 1680, White gold Daytona on leather with a Arabic dial, 116500LN, SS skydweller.
Asking all the money! Let’s say $21k CAD as it’s my fav #. Though it’s such a stellar example of an already rare model, this is one that will probably be able to trade for a house in a decade.
It’s possible she will just stay in my collection as I absolutely love this watch given my OCD and the pleasing patina perfection, so will take a compelling proposition to find her a new home.
Feel free to ask for HD photos as I took them with my Canon Mk1 with a macro lens, and don’t think the compressed CWC photos do it justice.
Oh yea...2 free genuine alligator straps! Yellow and black nubuck.
Apologies for the potato photo of the movement. I took the photo while at Damiani.
A HD photo can be arranged if required.
