This watch represents the first reverse restoration I have ever performed. The project is a joint venture where the head with the recent Service parts was replaced with period correct tritium components.
The changes were subtle. But I assure you, a great deal of time and attention went into bringing together some of the rarest and most sought after Rolex components.
The dial was sourced from the UK
The hands were found in Germany
& the insert was right next door in the good ol US of A.
Someone paid Rolex thousands of dollars to replace the tritium hands, dial and insert with modem luminova service replacements.
Speaking of which, I have a mint condition service dial (luminova), hands (tritium with almost no patina yet), and a luminova Service inset.

Serial: 8.2XX,XXX
Early 80’s Swimpruf hand Tag with overhanging crown.
Dial: Mark 1 Matte dial with original tritium plots. Dial is 100% original and untouched.
Hands: Untouched tritium.
Bezel inset: Original pearl intact. Colour registers as more blueish grey rather than a deep black
Movement: recent Rolex AD service. Movement running within CSOC spec
