Up for sale is a rarely seen for sale Laco 42mm manual wind Leipzig. German made timepiece by a company who was one of the 5 original pilot watch manufacturers for the German Luftwaffe during WW2. All original markings on caseback and side illustrating the military contract number and specs of the originals. 42mm which wears much larger but still classically subtle. Comes with it's original tang buckle dark brown strap with stainless rivets but the bonus is it will also come with a genuine Laco flieger style Erbstuck strap with brass rivets, exactly as the originals. The strap was $250 from Laco and has developed a beautiful dark patina after being oiled a few times.
Stunning piece. Sad to see it go but I acquired a new piece so unfortunately it has to go. The Leipzig is a manual wind movement which is just as the originals. There are automatic and cheaper quartz models, but the manual winds are the truest to the originals. This a type B dial with stunning blued steel hands which are exquisite when reflected in the light.
$850 takes away this piece of military aviation history. Seldom seen on the used market. Comes with its leather zip up case, card and manual.
