For sale is another one of my fully upgraded Seiko SKX007. Over all it’s in great shape and would make a stunning daily beater. I took some inspiration from the 62MAS on this one. I highly doubt you’d ever run into another person wearing this same watch!
Here’s my breakdown of the costs/upgrades:
- Base watch was a Seiko SKX007 (~$250)
- Brand new Uncle Seiko Waffle strap (was left on a watch pillow to give it shape but has never been worn outside) (~$50)
- Beautiful OEM Black Seiko Stargate dial (very sought after and hard to find) (~ $90)
- One Second Closer (OSC) Coin Edge Bezel (~$50)
- Black ceramic OEM-style Bezel insert (~$40)
- OSC Clear Double Dome Sapphire Crystal (~$50)
- Upgraded (Hacking +Handwind) NH36 Movement (~$60)
- Roman Numberals day wheel (with English as the alternative language) (~$30)
- 62MAS Style Hands ~($30)
Total if you were to buy all these parts is ~$650 not including modding. I’m looking for $450 net to me (not looking for any trades, thank you).
The condition is pretty good as you can see from the pics. I have greased the gaskets with genuine Seiko silicon grease but I have no methods of pressure testing so I can’t guarantee any sort of water resistance. I would recommend having that done by a professional if you are intending on taking this in the water.
Bezel play is a little loose on this one. I think it's just the bezel itself but it's never bothered me.
This is just not getting the write time it deserves. The pics do not do it justice.
I’m located on the east side of the GTA but would be willing to ship anywhere in Canada.
