I am new to this forum. I have been on the general Rolex forum with the same user name. I am a Watch Collector and have many modern and a few vintage Rolexes. I work in Hamilton Ontario and I am a healthcare provider. I am hoping to sell this vintage Rolex as well as another vintage Rolex in another listing because I would like to purchase more modern Rolexes. I prefer the weight of the more modern Rolexes to these vintages and so I did not enjoy these vintage Rolex is as much as I initially thought. I had trouble with a few other listings previously last week in this forum and I apologize for this. It was just my inexperience. I am willing to provide any photos or angles or views of the watch if they are not posted. All the documentation I have on the watch is listed.
Based on the serial number (9461XXX) I know that it is from 1987. Last three numbers not disclosed for security reasons of course.
The bracelet is a jubilee bracelet 62510h/555.
The watch was serviced from Rolex Canada and has a two-year warranty from the date of service as the picture states until 2022. As you see form the service the overhead was completed and a new crown placed as required by Rolex in order for them to complete the service. They will not do a service without changing the crown for a watch of that era. As you can also see that I questioned why the GMT hand did not move separately from the hour hand and Rolex stated that is not a function of a GMT from that era and only the modern era.
The dial is original as well as the date wheel and all hands and case. The bezel insert is original. In addition to this, because there is no lume left on the dial as shown in the dark blurry photo taken after the watch had a bright LED light shone on it. Regarding the polishing of the case, I am not sure if it was ever polished however I know that Rolex Canada did not do any polishing of the bracelet or the case when it was serviced. It fits my 7-1/4" wrist with room for adjustment. No extra links, sorry.
I am asking 17,000 Canadian for this watch shipped. I am happy to meet in person as well however due to safety and security reasons we would have to come up with a suitable agreement so that it is safe and fair for both the buyer and the seller. The box, pamphlet and tags will be included. Note the green box is peeling a bit on a few edges. The Rolex warranty will be included.
