Hi CWC,
Up for sale is my black dial Explorer II.
I am looking for a face-to-face deal only and I am located in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
Selling price is $6,000. I am not open to trades at this time.
Here are the details:
Why am I selling this watch?
A few months ago, I was lucky to find my grail watch and since that time, my wrist hasn’t really seen much more. This was the first Rolex I bought and will always have a special place to me; however, it’s just not getting wrist time anymore and so I feel it needs a new home.
How did I acquire this watch?
I was lucky enough to pick this watch up from Jacek Kozubek (vintage Rolex expert at the famous HQ Milton in San Francisco). I purchased it in April of 2016 and got it shipped over the border. I got killed on the exchange and duties, but it was worth it. It was my first Rolex. Here is the original listing for the watch.

Current condition of the watch:
Overall, for a 23 year old watch, it’s in amazing condition.
I don’t know the service history of the watch, other than to say when I purchased it off Jacek in April 2016, his watchmaker would have looked at it. It winds very smoothly and is currently losing about 6-10 seconds a day, I don’t have a timing machine so unfortunately that’s as precise as I can get.
I don’t know enough about oyster cases to tell you if this case was polished or not. The dial is clean and the lume plots aren’t showing signs of patina.
Current condition of the bracelet:
The bracelet is a 78360 with 501B end links and has little to no stretch. It was a big selling feature for me when I first bought the watch. It’s currently fitted for my 6.5 inch wrist and I don’t have any additional links for it, but using the micro-adjustments, you could get it to fit probably a 6.75-7 inch wrist. That’s just my guess.
----
That’s it from me CWC. I sold a few watches on here many, many moons ago so if you ask for references I’m not going to give you those ones. This will be my first big sale (greater than $1000), so I’m going to share some different references with you.
Please ask any questions you have. Looking forward to finding a new home for this special watch!
