This is my ~1970 Speedmaster Mk II. It was purchased by me last year and immediately sent to Omega for a full restoration including new period appropriate bracelet, crystal, dial and hands, along with many other new parts. The case has been fully restored including stunning radial etching.
Controversial, I know, but on some models, patina is overrated. This is one of them. The sunburst radial etching is a joy to behold and when it’s gone, you’ve just got a lump of metal.
There are plenty of beaten up Speedys of this reference out there but, IMHO, this is one that deserves to be restored, even if that means losing a little case thickness. The end result is stunning and creates a very unique piece. The equivalent re-release automatic is $7k and lacks the heritage of a vintage mode. This one can be yours for $3.5k shipped to your door. Includes the old parts in the photo, Omega service pouch, and invoice for the work carried out ($1676 plus tax).
Note the case back still has some original detail and was not polished. The watch has been worn and has some hairlines here and there but looks about 95% better than a tired, old version.
Hit me up with any questions. First “I’ll take it” gets OHPF, full payment gets it shipped to your door. Sorry, on this one no trades and price is firm. And please, don’t make an offer unless you intend to 100% to compete the purchase. Cheers and thanks for looking.
