The 209 is a model that was made in a quantity of 400 pieces in one year alone, and that was the 2005 G series year. It is rumoured that only 200 were made as materials for the bracelet were in short supply. I have only seen a few examples on the internet over the years, and all of them were in the 300's out of 400.
It has the older style Panerai bracelet that is adored by Panerai lovers. It is a very expensive multi-piece construction in this case, half titanium and half stainless steel. This serves to both keep the weight of the bracelet down, and provide contrasting shades.
Panerai made very few models with this bracelet and it is said that it was way too expense to produce.
The watch case is titanium as well, and the bezel is a high polish stainless steel. There are a few marks on the watch case and bezel, but it is in overall near mint condition. Amazing for a 5 year old watch. It is keeping COSC time.
It comes with all boxes and papers as it was delivered in 2005. It even has the original bill of sale.
It has one extra half link, and I expect that the watch will fit up to an 8" wrist. The bracelet has sone swirlies on the high polished parts. Very light, actually, considering its age.
It looks and feels like a million bucks on the wrist!
Replacement value is app $9900 US for a similar model, but with the new bracelet design. Asking $6300 cdn delivered to any address in Canada.
