Offered for sale is this fine example of the Soviet Poljot "Strela", cal. 3017, cyrillic "KL-1" chronograph, from the early 1960s. Watch only, no box nor papers.
In very good vintage condition for its age, as depicted below, this example features a correct, early, and very cool cyrillic dial w/ telemeter scale, correct hands and crown. The cal. 3017 is a two register 19 jewel movement beating 18,000 bph and was introduced by the soviets in 1959. It is pretty much a clone of the Venus model 70/150/152 column wheel chronograph movement.
The acrylic crystal is in good shape as is the case itself, with some light scratches expected for a watch of this age, and no major dings.
Chronograph is working correctly and movement is keeping time as expected!
There is a lot of history behind the Strela 3017 -- it is the Soviet space/moon watch. You can find some information along with videos here: https://strela-watch.de/company/strela-history/ (website not mine!)
Please note that there are many franken versions of this watch offered on the internet, and many fakes! I have spent a lot of time digging through notes, posts, photos, etc. and as far as I can tell, this is a good example. Do your research!
Offered at $1,800 shipped overnight to your door in Canada. Watch and I are in Montreal, so also available for f2f deal locally.
Also, I will be in Toronto this upcoming week Tuesday-Thursday (December 10-12) and will have the watch with me and can meet for f2f deals in Toronto during this time.
Questions welcome, please PM.
