Okay. Most watches I buy and sell I get to wear and enjoy... the benefits of the trade.
Occasionally one comes along that I call my own... but once I see it sitting in the safe for 2 or more weeks untouched, then its time to move it on.
So, I guess I am offering up MY 1680 today for sale or trade.
It came to me literally days after completing a Rolex service (March, 2016).
5.6 million serial number dates the watch back to early-mid 1978. Serial number and model number beautifully intact between the lugs.
It arrived on a green custom made suede strap (astroturf...lol) that is lovely for the watch but a bit too lightweight for my taste.
Enter Aaron Pimentel from Combat straps... !!
I am offering the watch for $8975 shipped to any address in Canada, and it will include 3 straps... the green suede, the unbelievable ostrich belly that you see pictured and an assolutamente (nubuck) that I have worn only once.
It will include ONLY the service card with balance of 2 year warranty and the green Rolex service pouch that it was shipped to me in. With very little effort you could source an original boxset, but I was not motivated to look for one without having the original papers... If only everyone kept them back in the 70's!
Sell the straps and buy a used bracelet if you prefer it that way, OR, I can sell you a BRAND NEW CORRECT SERIES 93150 Bracelet with CORRECT SERIES Endlinks, SEALED IN THE Package for $2000 extra. Try and find one of those!
Either way you go, you have a killer watch that is a keeper.
The watch was restored by Rolex, and numerous parts were changed including the incredible high hat plastic crystal! Sadly the hands could not be saved and were replaced, but the gorgeous dial is all original and stunning.
Remember, this is a Rolex restored watch, so all parts are OEM and guaranteed... unlike some of the tempting tasty morsels that some US sellers may have for sale.
Very few signs of use while in my possession... possibly a few hairlines on the crystal.
Absolutely stunning as is on the ostrich. It is a watch to fall in love with. EVERYONE that sees it cannot believe that it is 38 years old!!!
Please email me with any questions at canwatchc@gmail.com
Cheers!
