Catch and release. Selling because I’ve become accustomed to wearing straps and while I really hoped this one would work out, I just can’t warm up to bracelets anymore and this watch truly belongs on the bracelet. Purchased 3 days ago on CWC from the original owner who purchased it in Decembe from a Canadian authorized dealer (Bandiera).

Case finishing, handset design and finishing, dial layout and proportions, all just beautiful. If you’ve considered the Grand Seiko SD diver but, like me, are not keen on its handset, this watch is the answer to your prayers. Plus, the lume in this is stronger than a GS.

Sized for my 7.25 inch wrist, this full titanium watch weighs in at just 154 grams and not top heavy like the MM300. Spring drive movement with 72 hours power reserve, Seiko’s best lume, ratcheting ti clasp, 300 meters WR, sapphire crystal, and ceramic bezel are some of the highlights. 44x15.7mm. 22mm lugs. Wear similar to an MM300.

Condition: Complete set. Sized for a roughly 7.25” wrist with 2 spare links included. This one is excellent. I’d call it 95%, but please examine the pics. There are some light marks in the caseback from the previous owner, I assume from the bracelet touching.

Price: $5350 via EMT plus shipping. Retail is $7800. I can ship via parcel pro, it would be around $100. Local deals are welcome, I’m in Whitby. PayPal is fine but buyer covers the fee.

Trades: I would like to try an SLA033 or 017, the new Seamaster wave dial in black. Basically, 3 hand sports watches on strap will be considered. Not looking to add cash – straight trade or down please.

Feel free to ask any questions. Lots of feedback available.

Cheers,
Sean

Lots of nibbles, but not there yet. A couple PMs have asked me about this model compared to the GS. If you're hesitant about spending this much on "just a Seiko", I kind of get it, but allow me to share some points of interest.

I have handled both the SS and ti version of the GS diver, these are my observations:

• the hands and dial finishing rival GS. In fact, this one wins the handset battle. Not just in shape, but in finishing with it's polishes edges.
• the GS SD diver does not have a ceramic bezel insert, this does.
• the GS diver's lume is just meh compared to this one.
• case and bezel are better finished on this model compared to the GS diver.
• 300M WR compared to 200M on the GS.
• this model and the GS share the same clasp, signed their own of course.
• while comparing pricing of this model to the GS diver, be sure you price out the titanium GS, not the SS.

But don't take my word for it, go check out both models for yourself. And while you're there, have a look at how the crown guard cutouts are finished on the GS. There's nothing wrong with the GS, fantastic watch, but this one is quite simply better. There's more to a watch than just a name.

Hope this was helpful.

• only 2 months old.
• bang-on time keeping.
• MSRP is $7800 CAD.

How does it wear you ask (as many have)?

Like an MM300 but lighter, and way more balanced. Only 0.5 mm increase in thickness, diameter, and lug to lug. 0.5...pretty insignificant. Basically if you can pull off an MM300 or 43mm Planet Ocean, you can pull this off. It’s not as imposing as, say, a Seawolf or XL PO.

Does the crown dig in?

It does not. It sits off the wrist and given is placement at 4 o’clock it’s a non issue with regards to comfort. It’s design may not be for everyone, but I believe the designer over engineered it for a reason. It provides great purchase, and showcases the craftsmanship Seiko put into this watch. The milled circumference and face are quite interesting.
