Every so often Panerai releases a model that becomes iconic or synonymous with something or someone.

The C-series Pam63 became known as the Tom Cruise - 1500 produced
With the E-series PAM127 became known as the Fiddy - 1950 produced

And with the H-series PAM214 was born The Statham

Statham along with other celebrities began wearing the Italian brand as it defined itself during the early 2000's. Though Statham took this one step further, wearing his own watches in his movies including this particular model worn in The Mechanic.

I'm not entirely sure why the 214 over other Panerai he has sported in films over the years including the 213 and Daylight below.

But Rattrapante models have always been special. Panerai typically produces 1000 rattrapantes a year with models being made for a few years before something else being introduced. The 214 being the only radiomir Rattrapante Panerai ever produced to my knowledge.

Enough history, let's get to the watch of the hour.

H-Series (first year the 214 was produced)
X/1000 units
Modified 7750 movement
10/10 condition
Full service in January 2017 - 10 months remaining on warranty
Ultra rare OEM 1.4mm radiomir screwdriver (don't ask how I got this)
Rare unmounted JV croc included

There is currently a 214 available for sale at Humbertown for $15,000ish

Which makes my $9,500 asking price look like a steal! (Thanks HT!)

Cash FTF in Toronto
Price also includes shipping anywhere across Canada with payment by wire

It was brought to my attention that the sapphire has a 1mm scratch on the face. It's fairly centrally located and is/was present during all of the photos taken above. Though I struggle to find it, it is there (unless just a mark on the coating). Unclear if this can be addressed without replacing the sapphire, or if it is even necessary given it is difficult to find even when looking for it.

I will take this into account when discussing price. And the new owner can opt for a replacement sapphire of their choosing before completion of the deal, or a discount ($300) will be applied to the sale to account for the imperfection.

Would rather wait as it is a exceptionally small superficial mark that some buyers may just prefer the cash discount.

Additionally, I completed the set. If you prefer watch only, along with authenticity paperwork from Damiani, OEM croc and 20mm OEM deployment, I will take $1,000 off the purchase price should the following not be required:

Double Box set ($350)
Booklet ($150)
Guarantee booklet ($100)
Rare OEM 1.4mm driver ($100)
OEM strap tag ($25)
New JV Croc strap ($650)

10 months warranty remaining

For those of you keeping count, this is what $8,200 will buy you.

You can add on any of the items above a la carte if you so choose.

I'll probably throw in a free strap (albeit not a new JV croc). Have a great green asso strap that looks killer on this watch.

There are few watches that so seamlessly move between the boardroom and battlefield. Truly a piece for the man prepared for anything life has to throw at him. And like most Panerai, water resistant to 330ft/100m
