I’ll post all the relevant set information, condition photos etc at the end of the ad. I’m however going to begin with a brief introduction to the trio.
Starting things off I have the quintessential diver, the PAM24. Though the 24 is as comfortable on the trading floor as over a wetsuit, today the PAM24 is the sporty of the group.
Next is a watch I’ve now owned 3 separate times. The 161 GMT has all the things that make the PAM88 great, and improves on it.
Taking the 161 back as trade towards a 213 Rattrapante and PAM674 DUE was easy given the exceptionalities low production and subtle superior details such as titanium lugs (scratch resistant), SS details which along with bracelet is about the weight of a submariner, etc.
I paired the 161 with a touch of Bay st.
The 2B may not sound familiar, but is the father of the staple PAM112 with its understated utilitarian design.
This 2B is truly special, but much like the acoustic with the aftermarket paint and no decals, won’t be turning any heads like the stellar Sunburst Les Paul behind it.
However, I haven’t played that Les Paul in months. But each and every day I pick the acoustic, it instantly puts a smile on my face.
Most people will assume it’s just another 112. And at times you could be forgiven doing the same; that is until the lights dim and you notice the $2,000 tritium hand set that you remember could only be acquired from another 20+ year old panerai.
Open the back and you can see details that the 2B isn’t that far removed from its pocket watch roots, being only the second year of commercial production. Only 50% of which received tritium hand sets that year, and was the last Base luminor to do so.
At 20 years old, the 2B has seen some life, much like that old acoustic which shared a stage with Kiss & Alice Cooper at one time. Most people that come over will pick up the Les Paul, but....once in a blue moon someone asks me if they can pick up my prewar Martin 00-18 and see what Brazilian rosewood sounds like after 80 years : )
Spoiler, it sounds like nothing else, and the 2B is a hell of a slice of Paneristi history. One that makes me smile every time I put it on Kyle wrist. And once again when the lights go out!
Im just organizing the set & condition photos for all 3 which will follow later tonight along with pricing, and other relevant (and sometimes irrelevant) information.
Thanks for having a look!!! And feel free to fire owner any questions once I’ve updated the ad tonight.
