Hello gang,
Up for sale is my beloved Tudor North Flag (NF), full set (boxes, unnamed but dated card from April 2017, tags and Royal de Versailles bag) for $2,500.
First and foremost: the watch is in great condition overall but if you are looking for a museum piece, this watch is not for you. Details are below.
I purchased this over 2 years and 2 months ago from a reputable member here (longest period of time I've held a watch in the last 5 years since I started collecting).
I don't contribute a whole lot to the forums but you may have read here and there that I love this watch. The NF is so different with all the yellow and the weirdly-shaped integrated lugs, yet it is very classy and elegant at the same time. You might find this funny but I always thought if Mad Max would need a watch, this would be it but I digress.
As mentioned above, the watch is from April 2017 - so just out of warranty but I've never had any issues with it. As a matter of fact, it is probably the most accurate automatic watch I've ever owned. With 70 hours of power reserve, drop it off in the watch-box on Friday and grab and go on Monday. It's amazing.
The date wheel centers right in the middle and the hour and minute hands align perfectly on the top of the hour. I've had more than the advertised power reserve (70 hours) with her. Mechanically it's in in top notch condition.
It's a 40mm but wears slightly smaller for whatever reason. I'd say 39ish, probably due to the case shape and/or lug integration but I am just guessing.
So, nothing but only positive things to say so far... why am I selling it? 2 main reasons:
1) I picked up a Longines Big Eye 6 months ago and she gets a lot of wrist time. Unfortunately the NF hasn't seen a lot of wrist time since her arrival. I think I needed a chrono in my life (thanks TimeCaptain for constantly talking/texting about chronos!).
2) I have an eye on another piece on sale here and the watch box is full and need to unload one to grab another. The NF is the victim unfortunately.
Now, the disclosure about the watch's imperfections:
It has a few very small flea bites on the case and bezel but they are minuscule. You really need to look to see them but they are there. I couldn't picture them despite trying from different angles. The sapphire glass is perfect.
The texture on the leather strap gradually smoothed out on both of the sides, closer to the lugs. I also put an additional hole on the strap in between holes for the perfect fit (7.25"); the complementary work was done by our own terry.shan and he did an amazing job. Kudos to Terry again. You will see the additional hole in the pictures below.
The last two North Flags sold for $2,500 and that's where I will kick this off: $2,500 + shipping. F2F in Toronto is welcome. I may take the ad off if the watch I have an eye on sells before mine.
No SLR quality but I took a lot of pictures with my iPhone; please excuse the dust and lint on the pictures. Feel free to ask for more if you are interested in more detailed pictures. The watch is safely packed in its box and awaiting for her new owner.
Feel free to send trade offers but please keep in mind that I have an eye on a watch on sale here. Having said that, I will consider trading up and across. No disrespect to anyone but please no micro-brands, smart-watches, quartz and/or multi-watch trades.
I've had lots of positive feedback over the years. Deal with confidence.
Cheers.
