The following is from the Astrographic website;
Originally released in 1969, the Astrographic is one of the most daring watches in the Zodiac archive. A product of the Space Age era, the Astrographic pushed Zodiac's innovative approach to design to the edge, setting a high bar for a Swiss brand. Featuring a "mystery" dial with floating hands and futuristic cases, the watches were, and still are, unlike anything else on the market.
Now, 50 years later, Zodiac has released a tribute to these watches with a remake that closely draws on the original, while meeting modern standards. Featuring 40 x 43mm UFO cases, the Astrographic is available in two versions, steel or gold. Both feature 100m water resistance and sapphire crystals, welcome upgrades from their vintage counterparts, as well as the design's signature floating hands. An exotic effect, the hands are printed on sapphire disks that rotate around the dial.
Limited to just 182 pieces per version worldwide, the Astrographic reissues are bound to be collectible timepieces. The watches will be shipped with a Zodiac patch and sleeve on the packaging inspired by the current space race to Mars!
Powering the Astrographic is the STP 3-13 caliber. This Swiss-made automatic movement features 26-jewels, date, swan-neck regulator, hacking seconds, a power reserve of 44hr and a frequency of 28,800bph for a smooth sweeping seconds hand.
