First one on canwatchco if I’m not mistaken.
The U-Boat dark moon of course is the oil filled watch which presents a somewhat lighter side of the hobby. The watch provides extreme distortions with the high domed sapphire crystal and the bubble in the dial which is in perpetual motion. With that said the dial is very legible.


It measures a sizeable 44mm and there is no hiding that its a big watch. Lug width is a standard 22mm.

The watch comes as a full set and in unworn condition.
Of note, this is the latest generation where there is a battery compartment allowing you to change the battery with no need to send to U-Boat for a costly service.

Lots of inquires and mostly around 'how does it wear' - Its a large watch and it wears as such. The downturned lugs help as does the dark outline of the case but it is and will always be a large watch.
There are holes in the dial halfway between the indices to allow the oil to flow, following which, this is houses a quartz movement. The bubble is there to allow the oil to expand during warmer climate.
The oil is supposed to enhance legibility but in the end its purpose is no more than being a novelty. This is a whimsical watch and far from the ever popular category of GADA.
