Selling my stunning 1969 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ref.1500
The watch was serviced by RSC last December where it received a complete overhaul and has hardly been worn since. The guarantee from the service will expire December of 2022. Inside beats the iconic Rolex 1570 movement which runs beautifully within COSC specs. The watch was tastefully restored at RSC and received a light polish, a new bezel and crystal. The original dial and hands show an amber patina and the tritium lume plots are intact but do not hold a charge. The dial is clear of any blemishes besides a light marking between the 6-7 indices. The stainless steel oyster case is clear of any scratches and retains the sharpness from the recent polish. The case measures 34mm across and 42mm lug to lug.
Fitted to the case is a Rolex oyster bracelet ref.7835 with 357 end links. The bracelet is currently sized for a 7.5 inch wrist but will accommodate a 7-8 inch wrist with the micro adjustment on the clasp without the need to remove links. The bracelet and clasp are in very good condition but show some light scratches and flea bites as the watch was sent for servicing without the bracelet.
Included in the sale : the receipts, service booklet and international guarantee card as well as a Rolex leather travel pouch with cushion and grey leather strap.
*Rolex did note that the model number and serial number between the lugs is hard to make out as they think it could have been worn down by a tight fitting leather strap over its lifetime prior to my ownership. The receipt of service has both numbers and was confirmed by a third party. Both parties agreed that the watch left the Rolex factory in March of 1969.
